I think my timing belt has just failed. Can anyone tell me if the Valves/Pistons get damaged when the belt failes on a 1995 2,5D?

In a word YES

Depending on how fast you were going at the time the belt broke, On tickover you will have at least bent/snapped 2 to 4 valves anything faster and you could have bent all 8.

I have recently re-built a coupl of heads for Surf's and they had done the lot.Be prepared for quite a hefty bill unles you can find a "donor" vehicle.

You will however need to buy a new cambelt, and the tensioner. the hiluxsurf.co.uk website, someone may ship the parts you need or www.milners.co.uk or roughtrax.co.uk for the new stuff

Cheers

Paul
