  1. I've driven many types of vans over the years and the one that sticks out is the Transit! I love them new and old. Great driving position and the new ones are full of little features. Daily drive- 4.3 XTR! Dave

  4. I am on 17"'s but would love to be on 15s if only for the improved ride.... but maybe a run in a 15" shod Gen 3 would be a good idea first, as the improvement may/ could only be marginal, and not worth the effort..... I have a feeling that the only area that Mr Toy has skimped is on the un-sophisticated suspension (plus the plastic interior of course)

  5. I can't get my head round any product of combustion cleaning anything and would previously have said it was all a load of rubbish but when it was suggested to me I looked at reviews on various sites and lots of people have had great results. Even Mrs Pogle remarked how much better the car is driving. Without sounding sexist there must be a significant difference for her to tell as she's not usually bothered as long as i've put fuel in it and the radio works. Local independent said he has recently had a diesel in bits that had been treated with forte and everything on the exit side of things was very clean. He doesn't sell the stuff so no reason to make it up.

  6. Dying (or dead) batteries can show up "reverse polarity" on a charger or test-meter, in their final death throes.

  8. Just done a simple calculation ! As I only cover about 5000 miles a year in my IQ at the moment it will not be until year 2032 when I reach the 130,000 mile mark ! (that 19years time from now) ! If "Myself and / or my IQ" live that long I will post my experience on the IQ forum, if it still exists then !

  9. The second generation IQs have a proper clip to do the job, so MrT did respond when we complained about this about 4-5 years ago. John

  11. Same struts should fit diesel and petrol cars. You can ask whichever company selling car tuning parts and see if they can supply the needed bars.

  12. I think that maybe you should ask the person making the recommendation what it is in particular about your brake pads which leads them to recommend that they be changed. Are they damaged? contaminated with oil/petrol/solvent? Are they just looking at the mileage and assuming they need to be changed? do they think that they are excessively worn and will need to be changed before the next service? If the answer is the latter, ask them what thickness all of the pads were measured at and at what thickness they recommend a change of pads. I am just guessing that there is good business in pad and disc changing and perhaps the garage has forgotten ( or thinks that you have forgotten) that with regenerative breaking, hybrids don't use their brake pads as heavily as other types of vehicle.

  13. That is interesting, but gosh, so much hard work and a posh battery charger that is great but........ Again I ask how old is the 12 volt battery? For £50-52 all you problems go away for 4 years. My Bosch sliver battery is still great after 9 monthsish. Every time I lock it it is a strong chunk chunk, and ...... so far it 'feels' so strong and reliable. Just buy one.......really.
