When the Citroen C1 was tested in 2005, it was awarded 4 stars - and these results were adopted for the Aygo and 107. In 2012, the 2005 test results were re-assessed under the tougher 2009 standards (the car wasn't actually re-tested) and the award was 3 stars.

Given that cars like the VW Up! have been awarded 5 stars, I would imagine Toyota and PSA would be aiming for a similar result.

Interestingly the current Kia Picanto only got a 4 star rating, and it will be interesting to see whether the new Hyundai i10 (which is based on the Picanto) does better.

Um interesting, the Peugeot is taking on a shape similar to what the Citroen C3 hatchback used to looked like.
