Hell Runner 2009

Well thank you to all who donated, the 2009 Hell Runner was completed by 5 runners from Lindop Toyota

The team from left to right are: Tracy James, John Devlin (Kingo), Lisa Johnson, Steve Knowles, Steve James

We arrived at Delamere forest in plenty of time and the weather was shocking, it was lashing with rain and howling a gale!

Just before the start time of 11.00 the rain stopped and we had a little bit of sunshine. The start was horrific, right off the start line we had to race to the top of a hill, about half a mile of steep road with great views over the Cheshire Plane

The trip was hard work, 12 miles in total, on everything from walking/cycle tracks to forest trails and the famous "Bog of doom" a thick black peat bog that made you look as though you had been dipped in treacle!!!

More pictures will follow, but just wanted to say we all made it without too many injuries

Thanks to all who donated, you can still help by donating at www.justgiving.com/LindopToyota

Kingo

Congratulations to you and the team, John :toast:

I'm glad that your ankle [?] held out. The great feeling of achievement must make up for the aches & pains :doctor:

I hope you raised more money for such a worthy cause :D

Pity it was such a foul day :(

Thanks Victor, it was very hard work, I'm on the lookout for a good nurse

The ankle and knees held out (just) but I'm walking like John Wayne today  but glad to say I'm not the only one, some of the team had cuts and bruises from falling over tree roots and the like, I survived with just a thorn in my thumb!

Wait for the "Bog of doom" photos which will be a few days coming (Had to use an old waterproof camera with FILM in it) so will post them up when I have scanned them

Kingo

Well done indeed

Was that the before or after picture? ;)

Les

Yes that was BEFORE Les, the after pictures are on FILM (yer I know-Film, wasnt sure they still made it) It was a cheap underwater camera I use when snorkelling, so ideal to take along. I joke not, we looked like we had been dipped in treacle at the end, I still cant get my feet clean!!!

Kingo
