Oil Control Valve Vvt-I

Can anyone (Parts King probably) advise whether Toyota can supply the solenoid for the oil control valve for a 1.8 vvt-i separately or will they supply the entire unit. My spanner slipped and the plastic connector was smashed. The thing comes apart but knowing Toyota they may want to make me buy the entire unit.

The workshop manual describes the entire part as - Camshaft Timing Oil Control Valve Assembly.

Complete parts only I'm afraid

2000 1.8 vvt = 15330-22010

2008 1.8 vvt = 15330-22030

Thanks - I think I've been able to source a salvage part off a Celica. (same part numbers according to toyodiy.com). £30 as opposed to £90+ from the Dealership.

No joy with the salvage part. Didn't want to leave it any longer so I shelled out for a genuine component. The service manager suggested that the engine management light should have reset itself but it didn't. My OBD2 tester still showed only one fault which was consistent with the damaged wiring on the solenoid after having installed the new part? Anyway I cleared the ecu memory and all warning lights have gone.

A little poorer but hopefully a bit wiser!
