Sat Nav Disk - A Basic Question

Hi

Have been looking at a 55 plate XT5 but the seller does not have the disks to go with the Sat Nav and a quick search shows that they are not cheap to replace. Excuse this really stupid question but do I really need the disks? Are the maps not preloaded onto the unit?

Thanks and sorry if this is a daft question

As far as I know, only the very latest Toyota Sat Nav has a hard drive for the maps, therefore you'll need a disk for the unit to work.

Why not ask the seller to purchase the disks for you or discount the price of the disks off the purchase price?

Hi

Yes you do need the disk. I have a 05 plate XT5 and I had the original disk for a couple of years then bought the current one at that time. I paid over £100 for it! Too much!

I think I have the original disk ; I shall have to look for it.

Thanks everyone. At least I now know that the disk is required and can use its absence as a bargaining point.
