just got my insurance renewal with elephant at £1754 which is good, but the interest rate puts the payment up massively, flat rate it would be £140ish a month, with their interest its £197 a month, can anyone think of a way around it, if i speak to a manager and have a pop can they reduce the apr?

Blimey, that's a bit steep!

I'm sure you could get a lower rate than that (Unless you live in a high crime area, are a criminal, have chipped your car with nitro and are blind  )

I'd say use something like confused.com or compare themeerkat... err.. market  and then take the top 5 and ring them up.

My brother, in a 2.0 D4D Corolla T3, got insurance for ~£1000 when he'd just passed his test!

Have you tried Virgin? They don't charge interest when you pay for insurance in installments!

I can't believe how much some people are having to pay for insurance these days. The most I've ever paid is £500, and that was a custom VW camper fully comp when I was 21. These days I pay less than £200 fully comp for my Corolla. The up side of being older, I suppose.

apply for a tesco's credit card 0% on purchases. buy the insurance on that, set up a direct debit for 150 a month or what ever you can afford so its fully paid off in 12 months then rip up the credit card so u can't use it again ( or keep it if you can control your spending) you'l save urself couple of hundred quid
