Ok my car is starting to play up.

No matter what gear Im in when I go through the revs my car starts to like shudder. Only way I can describe it is if it pulls then stops then pulls then stops etc. My mate seems to think its definately not a misfire cause it would happen at low revs when just cruising. So it must be something to do with the air sensor.

Does anyone have a clue whats up with it?

sounds like a MAF fault or possibly a split pipe between athe MAF and the throttle body.

I havent seen a split and is the MAF sensor the one on top of the airbox cause I cant get that off withoug destroying the screws.

Yes,this is the MAF sensor.Be careful.Clean it only with MAF Sensor spray and don't touch the wires or you'll damage it.You need the so called TORKS screwdriver.Another thing - It may not be your MAF sensor but your Lambda sond,or even spark plugs/dirty air filter.

I do believe Ive cleaned it but now the problem doesnt happen till about 4.5k rpm. The car is fine the rest of the time its only happens when I get high up the rev range.

  • 2 weeks later...

The problem has returned. I put some more oil in my car and it seemed to have fixed the problem for about a week but now it has come back. My oil level is good and I have cleaned the MAF propperly. If the MAF is fauly does it bring up a warning light and does anyone know whats wrong with my car.
