Dull/etiched Headlighs

well lads, dunno if any of you's have come accross this but my headlights are scratched/etiched looking on the corolla, started at the top and seems to be spresding, i blamed polish first but does seeem to be that, its no longer clear in places, no moisture on the inside this is on the out side surface, you can feel it, any ideas, peek metal polish???

Mine are the same, they are lightly scratched on the outside and they can look fogged up from a distance. They were like that when I bought the car :crybaby:

I have came across this problem on older Renaults. The cure is to rub the outer surface down with wet and dry (around 2500 grit should do - then polish off with rubbing compound and a finish off with brasso. Quite a bit of work invloved but it does work.:)

I want to do mine but im scared at the thought of me with sand paper haha. I will probably get this done proffesionaly but the technique as mentioned above seems to be a popular one.

iav heard other people on about this on other sites, somebody put up 3 different ways of doing it, one was to strip the whole light apart and put it in the oven for 20 mins, no hope of me doing that

Going a few rounds with wetsanding paper in different grits (very fine) and then polishing the headlamps up will do the trick.
