Car Diagnostic Code Reader

Has anyone used or own one of these?

If so would it be worth me buying one?

Is it something that anyone with good computer knowledge would be able to use?

Is this the right one of these for my car?

Should be fine mate. Corolla should be EOBD/OBDII compliant from 01 onwards, so any E12 petrol I think. The ELM 327 that kit is based on is the most complete IC for reading OBD thus far, by that I mean it supports the most standards. Then it'll jut be a simple serial to usb interface which the software will pick up and use to interface with the car!

I certainly hope its compatible anyway, seeing as my final year project is intended to be building my own all in one ODB scanner with buttons/lcd etc.

that looks a good one you found there looks like tells you alot of info. iv got one from MAC tools helps big time and can save you alot of money :D
