Corolla Rear Suspension

Ok having a beam rear axle sucks, i have noticed under heavy braking that the back end gets really twitchy.

Why couldn't toyota have put independant rear suspension on the back, prob down to the extra cost it would have added to make the car.

But dont worry the 06> civic type R has the same rear sus set up.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I used to own a focus with independant rear sus and never had any prob's with the back end under braking.

Do all e12 corolla's use the same setup?

yeah all E12's are a beam. road use brake sooner, it stops a twitchy ***** lol. if its on the track you can always preload the rear setup to prevent it extending so far as it were.

coilovers would be the winner for either situation to be fair. shorter suspension travel. mainly due to the shorter stem in the damper to cope with the shorter spring and lower movement range. :) making the car handle as flat as possible is where its at.
