Hi all, I'm new here so go easy please!

Okay my Brother has a 1992 2.5 Twin Turbo R Supra. Its still limited to 180kph.

Does anyone know how to disable this?

Any info appreciated.

expensive but good way is to install a unichip, will remap the engine, transmission, turbo etc, therefore giving power as well as delimiting the engine.

Problem with the unichip is its only as good as the installation engineer, if your down south have heard numerous good reviews about Millway Sports (cost £470 all in).

FYI Mk2 Mr2 turbos have been confirmed to have had an extra 20-30bhp from this mod on the rolling road after installation.

Thanks. Do you know if they do the 2.5 TT as most Supra's are 3L? Its an unusual engine for a Supra. And its not the same as the Soarer engine either. The Soarer engine 1JZ-GTE is sequential Turbo where the 2.5 TT R is dual blown Turbo (both spooling at the same time).

Any idea where I can get a wiring diagram for the ECU? It might be a starting point.

Millway specialise in jap sports cars so you should have no problems at all....

Best bet is to give them a call if your interested.

Yeah mate, its kinda nippy. I can stick with him from a standing start to approx 50mph on a good day (no wheel spin). When he hit 40-50 he gets traction. After that he pulls away at a ridiculous rate. I just give up every time!

He's running 1Bar of boost and a 3" pipe from the manifold back. A filter that could stuck in small children. Bilsteins all round with a 45mm drop.

Its a monster. Its the only way I could describe it. It scares the sh~t out of me.

I think you will find that the Supra (JZA 70) in question has a 1JZ engine with twin parallel turbo's.

Virtually identical to the Soarer 1JZ twin turbo which certainly is not sequential.

Sorrry for the late post...

As Bill says, the engines are identical, as is the turbo setup. There are subtle differences between the two engines ancillaries yes but essentially they are exactly the same.

Anyway, if he wants it delimiting you can use the same bit of kit i did, from Pete Betts at TRL Performance. I took my 2.5tt to Pete last year and he has programmed one of his regular speed converters to work with the 2.5. Petes converters work as a delimiter/speed conversion in one unit.

The JZA70 2.5 ECU uses a 1/5th scaled signal to the ECU, and as such conventional speed delimiters/converters wont work. You need one of Petes Units to get round this. Read all about the conversion on my site at My Webpage > This is geared for the digidash version of the 2.5 but the principle is the same.

Also, tell him to get himself over to www.mkiiisupra.net/bbs as im fed up of being the only 2.5 owner on there !!
