What Is This Thing That I Managed To Break?

I managed to break an unknown object during adjustment of the dynamo and I was hoping someone could tell me what it is.

(The car is an Avensis 1.6 from 2002.)

It's the object marked with red in the picture; I broke the plastic power connector and after that the engine warning lamp lit up. I'm guessing that its some kind of engine sensor thingy? The car still runs as normal but I guess I'll need to get it fixed but I need the learn the name of the part before I can do that.

go down to the dealers, they will give you the extact name from the photos

Yes, that's probably the best solution. I was just hoping to save myself one trip there since I have to take time off from work.

Looking at the below drawing, I would say it's the Camshaft Timing - Oil Control Valve.

Sounds important... and expensive, but easy to replace

Thanks, that's the part I'm after. I've bought a new one; it wasn't too expensive (~82.00 £) so if I can only manage to get it fitted now I'll be back in business! =)
