Passenger Airbag Light

I have a small niggle at last!

Is the passenger airbag light meant to stay on all the time, just above the glovebox, as my passengers say it is really annoying, particularly at night?

Yes it does. You can turn it off by turning the airbag off, but not the light only.

Presumably then the off light would be on all the time then!!

Just checked US site and they recommend black eletrical tape, but not too keen on that so will live with it

That's one of those head-shakingly dumb things about the Prius (like the internal reversing beep) that (a) makes no sense whatsoever, and (b) seems designed just to deliberately irritate the driver.
