1.4Vvti Purchase

Someone has kindly rear ended daughters Yaris which is now a total loss - currently thinking of a Corolla 1.4 VVti on and 04 plate (40k ish on clock)

I am fully aware of the oil burning problems of the Avensis VVti engines, does the Corolla 1.4 follow the same problems

Any clues of expected mpg

Yeh the 1.6 definitely suffers from it due to slightly undersized piston rings but I think that whether or not it affects the 1.4 is under discussion.

They still return a decent MPG and are fantastic all round cars, I couldn't be happier!

If it helps,I have owned a 1.4 Corolla(previous shape)for the last few weeks and it seems that engine does have an appetite for oil,although fuel consumption is excellent.Never,ever had to put oil in my previous car(Primera)between services so am a little surprised by this one

my 1.4 is fine still got plenty of oil in from the last service, and petrol wise its excellent, 400miles from a full tank on my last run, never had a problem with it
