Red Light What Is It?

Hi,

Not the Red light accompanied with Orange and Green or the infamous Red Light!

I flattened the Battery leaving the lights on...Doh! After a jump start all worked well after the CD shot out, the hazards were stopped, it was then that I noticed a red light below the ashtray and cigar lighter fitted on one of the knock out switch panel.

Can not find my manual so could anyone enlighten me what it is for, as I have never to my knowledge seen it lit before....

The car is running OK, no problems.

Cheers

John

Hi Wudzy.

On my 01 this light is connected to the alarm system and it flashes when it is armed.

According to the alarm handbook this is the normal setting.

You do not say if it stays on,if so,the resident sparks are the chappies.

It is on all the time, well should I say after the jump start on our way back home it was on all the way back. I must admit I do not recall seeing it before but it is hidden most of the time with the steering wheel.

The alarm set ok when I got home...BUT it did go off when the wife opened the back door to get the walking gear out....Penny Dropped as I type.......The alarm may well have been armed and for some reason when we got out there was no problems but the driver and passenger doors had to be open with the key when we found the fob did nothing.

Makes sense now the bl***y thing does flash when you arm the car and leave it.....

Thanks for the quick response.....all should be back to normal sequence with the alarm tomorrow..

Great site for thickies like me...

Cheers

John
