Map Dvd Unreadable?

Hi, The Sat Nav has stopped reading the map DVD with the message DVD is damaged or unreadable, the DVD is unscratched and clean, so I am positive its not the disc. I was wondering if anyone knew does the whole Sat Nav unit need to be replaced or just the DVD reader? If just the DVD reader, anyone with any ideas on where or how much?
