Heater Vent On Dash

Hi folks,

I have an auris 1.8 sr, great car. I have an issue with the dashmounted heater vent, took it to toyota and the guy said "yeah it's just a trim piece"

is that right?? I have it in the open position, press the button and nothing happens, no air comes out.

any help??

ty. my owners manual talks about dash displays on 191 on :(

its to do with the dual zone climate control. it kind of forms a curtain between the two zones. if both zones are set about the same there wont be much coming out
