hey anyone explain to us how to clean or worst change the maf sensor im down on power on ive had the obvious dash lights its been diagnosed as an airflow problem{help}its drivin us mad

you cant really clean it mate ,any contact could brake it . £100 for an new maf or try resetting your ecu , disconnect you negative Battery terminal for 30mins reconnect then go for a blast :thumbsup:

hi mate i had the exact the same problem, and only buying a MAF sensor fixed it permanently. I was advised from others on here that have bought other MAF's on eBay, that only the Toyota MAF's work properly in the car as well. :(

I tried seriously hard to clean my MAF but in the end gave up and bought a new one.

As others have said, I wouldn't buy a pattern part. I bought a pattern part from eBay and it was okay to start off with, once the ECU had "learned" it then proceeded to stuff up and would flash all the warning lights and stick the car into limp mode.

BTW if this ever happens to you, I suggest unplugging the MAF sensor altogether and drive home limited to <3000RPM.
