Ta22 Engine Swap

Okay, so i'm fairly new at this, but i've got a '73 ta22 celica, and i'm keen to switch out the engine for something with a bit more power. I had a chat to my local celica specialists, and they suggested using an SR series motor because it's apparently going to be the least hassle to install (with the exception of the 3S-GE Beams motor)

I know some classic enthusiasts are going to hate me for this, but i'm looking into getting a half cut with an SR16VE engine and matching gearbox, so that I can eventually turbo it, giving me a lot of power without sacrificing handling.

My actual question: is there anybody in here who has done anything remotely similar that has any tips or information about engine mounts, any cutting of the firewall/radiator mount or any issues that may come up, and also whether it is likely to be able to be done so that it is able to be registered?

Cheers
