Radiator Broken & Need New One. Need Advice.

Hey there everyone.

I own a 2004 Toyota RAV 4 (2.4L 4 cylinder). This car's been treating me well for the past two years that I've owned it. However, just yesterday it overheated on me. Immediately, I suspected that the radiator was to blame, as indeed it was the main contributing factor to the problem. Upon inspecting the radiator I noticed that it showed signs of coolant leakage as well as damaged fins. I understand that the only solution to my problem is to replace the radiator, but now another problem has surfaced. Well, this one's a minor one, relative to the broken radiator, and I'm hoping someone here can help me with it. A friend suggested that I look online for a replacement radiator, so I've done just that. Looking around online I found two sites, one of which I'll potentially buy from. The problem is, I'm suspicious that one of them is a scam website, since the price of the part on each site is significantly different than the other. I'm hoping someone with experience and/or familiarity of aftermarket part vendors. Has anyone ever used either of the following websites and can verify that they are a legitimate company? I will not open my wallet until I can receive some sort of verification. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum. Don't know either site. You have the choice I suppose of a re-cored radiator, or a new one. Is that the price difference??

HI

if its only a small leak, and you say the fins are damaged so maybe stone damage then you could try BAR SEAL stop leak.

it is used in the motor for small leaks in the cooling systems.its a quality product.you can get it at Halfords and other motor shops.it cant be put in the coolant reervoir/expansion tank if you have not got a rad cap.then the top hose will have to be removed to get it into the rad.its well worth a try.
