Welcome to the club.

We have an electronics guru called shcm who will be out proving Einstien wrong at the moment but when he comes back he is probably a good one to guide you.

I'll leave that to very clever quantum mechanic physicists, who seem to have done a fair bit do discredit Mr E's "God does not play dice........" statement, although I can't be certain (QM Joke?)

Squib simulation? Not something I've ever done. Not something I'm sure I'd want to do.....................

Anyway, do you know the squib resistance? I reviewed some airbag ECU designs long ago, but can't remember typical squib values. Would I want to try and measure it?:g: I expect the probe current from a DVM is fair less than the firing current, so I expect it won't go

Resistors? On the high street, resistors from Maplin, I suppose (once you know what value you need). Otherwise, RS, Farnell, eBay, rapid electronics, my component stash.......................

I've recovered some old TVs which have a selection of resistors - you can have a job lot for nought !
