Was attracted to this site in search for an answer to my problem.

Had clamp on bottom radiator hose rust off resulting in hose coming off and losing

antifreeze.

Car ran hot for a short period - no damage to motor.

Repaired and filled with new fluid.

About a day later car started to rev high and when at stop sign would suddenly surge forward.

This got worse. Had new plugs and wires put on, cleaned throttle body and IAC valve { intake air control}

and tested EGR, EGR Modulator and solenoid. All Fine.

Found problem to be ECT (engine coolant temperature}sensor.

Replaced and car works fine.

Just wanted to say this problem was taxing with so many probable causes.

Hope this can help someone who has same problem

Derek
