Carina Ii Xli Project

Hello,

I just became a Carina II XLI owner and the car was owned by my grandparents. It has done 140802 mi. and its engine is in good condition. The only problem is that the rev's are high on cold start, but they go low once the engine is half warm (around 2 min run to lower the rev's). The body needs work, but that will come soon. Anyway the project list now. What I will do with it.

Engine:

  • Fully recondition the engine
  • Swap the pistons to racing ones
  • Bigger fuel injection
  • Bigger exhaust
  • Garrett turbo with cooler (Need to hide the cooler so nobody can see it. Need to keep the car old fashion)
  • Racing chip
    More To Come!

Outlooks (Body, Wheels):

Breaks, Shock absorber's:

  • Going to buy racing breaks (Air vented)
  • Lowered shock absorber's
  • New oil lines

Interior / Electrical components / Audio:

  • Full cage
  • Fix the passenger side el. window
  • Remove the backseat
  • Swap front seats with Cobra racing ones
  • 1 DIN DVD, MP3, CD, NAVI system
  • 1x 800W Subwoofer, 2x 50W Tweaters, 4x 250W MidWoofers, 2x 6x9 300W Speakers, 1x 1500W Subwoofer amp., 2x 4 line Speakers amp.
  • All the gauges renew'd
  • If possible then add a system that shows boost bar etc on 1DIN system.

At the moment that's all. I think once the engine part is done it should have around 300HP under the hood. I will add the car pictures later when I get my camera back. This project is a huge one I know, but it has been my dream and I have collected enough money to make it happen.
