Iq 20K Service £56

I was told that a pollen filter would cost £100 at my iQ's second service. I have now ordered a new iQ and am just waiting for it so did not go ahead with the pollen filter for now, however there seems to be quite a variation in prices

There is something wrong with that quote!

Even £30 is a heavy cost for what is just a rectangle of filter material.

If anyone IS charged for changing the filter at the second service make sure it has been changed.

Mine didn't need to be changed after 2 years but an unscrupulous garage could charge for it even though it has not been changed.

we sell our oil filters for approx £6 weird but up here parts always seem to be cheaper.....but heres the thing their is a big diff on oil filters between oe and em cheap !Removed!....and it can harm your engine...my friend was the same this filter is just the same as oem its cheaper in fact the oem was cheaper and the cheap one was missing a part in the filter a wee valve that keeps the oil in the filter.....

i drive a 11 year old lexus is200 the wife has a 6 year old celica gt and on both cars i will only use oem stuff on them...

As i said I was told £60 for a pollen filter, there is nothing outstanding about the toyota pollen filter that can warrent £100 or £60. so whats the big deal about it at that price?

In my car the Air filter was in need of a change after 2 years but the pollen filter was not to bad, but i changed it anyway.

I would say that you look at the pollen filter your self . its not a problim to remove and replace.
