im hoping someone can shed some light on this issue

our Rav 4.2 was fitted with the full screen navigation B9000 i think it was but it packed in recently

out of coincidence i managed to get a B9010 from a salvage yard and the normal plugs the speaker and standard radio fitted in perfectly as well as the GPS originally our rav had as a cd changer under the seat but this newer model connectors are different to the older one

would anyone be aware of any adaptors that might be available so i can get the changer working again

The navigation radio and Cd player all work fine so im assuming Toyota must have updated the B9010 for the later models

any info would be greatly appreciated

Ash

I suspect, depending on the age of your 4.2, the lead from the CD changer has a large 12 pin plug on it.

The changer port on the B9010, has a smaller 12 pin, probably black socket.

Have a look here:

Toyota do a Y-adapter part number 08695-00370, which will do the job of converting from large to small plug. Somewhere around £7 mark I think. Bit of a rip-off for what it is, (at least some of the connector bits are available from RS), but it might make it reasonably hassle free.

I don't know whether it will actually work. There may be some incompatibilities with the changer, but I suspect it has more chance of working than not. You'll have to try, but I'm not going to guarantee anything.

That sounds promising, my 4.2 is a 2002 on an 02 I'll drop parts king an email later see if he can get me the part or is it available from Halfords or somewhere like that. Is it possible to get a connector for the speed señor wire or anyt way of connecting that all the connectors on the old Unit were all plugged in no prob

To be honest I got worried when I saw the new unit was different with all the connectors but it seems to be working ok with just the original power and speaker block

Thanks for your reply

I don't know what connectors are on the back of your old B9000, but usually the vehicle speed signal is on the 5 pin grey connector. Did it have one of those? Have a look at the B9010 picutre. The pinout is usually the same across units.

Sorry, I was trying to do the post quickly and I dropped into industry speak. RS=radio spares (rswww.com). The harnesses are usually made up of wire, crimps and connector shells. Me being me, if I could get hold of those bits, I'd probably make my own harness and RS do have some of the bits to do that. However, it's probably easier just to buy the adapter. After all a good crimp requires the correct size crimp tool for a start.

I doubt if Halfords would have it, but you can try.

from what i can gather the 9000 was fitted about 2 yrs ago (the chap i got car from lives locally)after speaking to him he said it was fitted with TNS 3?? something the unit is still under the seat of the Rav but disconnected

The wiring for the old unit i found a picture on here and copied it

the long connector on the unit pictured looks similar to what was on the 9000 not got unit now

Quick update

I bought the adaptor that you suggested (shcm) and it works perfect all controls work so thanks for your advice.

Only downside is the cost £16.26 a bit pricey for what it is

Thanks again

  • 1 month later...

I managed to connect the speed and reverse sensors by buying the wire Harnesses to fit the 700

They are available from parts king on the forum. I've still got the part number for the speed and reverse sensors if anyone needs it

Cheers hope that helps

Hi, i have brought a used TNS 700 for my Avensis verso 2003 which was fitted with a TNS 200 as standard. I am trying to locate adaptors or wire harness which ever is easier so i can fit the TNS 700. Therefore could you advise me on what i will need and forward me any part numbers with the exact address of the website if possible. Thanks
