Hello all, I am new to this forum and mainly due to breaking the Oil Solenoid on my partners car! I need help and advice if anyone can share their experiences with me....

I have attached a picture of the sensor which I have removed from the car, its an X reg (2000) and I have tried to find a replacement part, it would appear looking through the internet I am not the first to break it, seems a silly design having a small plastic connector sitting out from a metal housing, its the weakest point for it to break!!

To my question, will the car run ok without the sensor working? (Obviously inserted back into position) I am assuming that the engine will cough and splutter and not sound too good, therefore I am aiming to leave the car alone until a new part is fitted.

All help will be gratefully appreciated.
