Right, here's the update as promised, I took the car to Toyota. And told them of the update number, 305b7000, they checked my car over, and told me that the update number I had given them only applies if i have had a 3/4 engine rebuilt. Which I haven't, they told me that they checked the calibration of the injectors, all ok, and that my car has the latest software installed already, they were very nice about the whole thing and didn't charge me anything. So I'm sort of back where I started, but I have now filled up the tank and added a can of bg 244. So let's see what happens now.

somtin fishy goin on there mate .im installin dat software in vehicles everyday for this issue dat havent had an engine done .theres no mention of dat in the tsb either .id take it to another dealer dats a bit more clued in .il post the tsb number on monday so you can refrence it

Got the same issue on my Toyota Avensis any luck sorting it out?

I say it's starter motor. Get your starter motor checked out before you go any further!

Nope checked the starter motor its fine.. Weather gets colder now and the car hardly starts again :(
