Removing 3Rd Row Of Seats (2011 Verso)

Hi,

has anyone had experience of removing the 3rd row of seats from a 2011 Verso. I'm doing a 2 month road trip of Europe, want to lighten load..

Is it easy? Is there any potential pitfalls? I note the seatbelt sensor issue..

Is it DIY, or can Toyota do it? Does it invalidate any warranty?

Thanks

Bob

Hi Bob, In answer to your question. My Verso is a 59 plate 2.0 D-4D T-Spirit. I removed my third row of seats and replaced them with a light weight platform (aluminium and ply wood) to level the boot floor. The seats are easy to remove they come out as one unit and there is just 5 bolts to remove and then unplug the seat belt sensor plugs, I did put the bolts back in afterwards so that they plug the holes up in the floor. You may need a hand to get them out of the car as they weigh a ton. There have been no problems with seat belt warning lights, the others work normaly. I have done a few thousand miles since I removed them and there seems to be an improvement in mpg.

Hope this helps. All the best and good luck with your road trip. (Can't comment on warrenties.)
