Tx3 Diesel Auto Wiper Sensor - Gel Pad?

Hi,

My windscreen was replaced due to a crack. Since then every couple of weeks, the wipers will make one or two wipes every time I go over a speed hump or similar. If I unclip the sensor from the windscreen behind the rear view mirror, there is a smear of what feels like some sort of silicon liquid in the recess the sensor sits in. If I dry this out, it will be ok for a few weeks, then it happens again. Toyota dealer says the gel pad that goes between the sensor and the windscreen should have been replaced when the windscreen was done (it was not done by them). Gel pad is apparently not available without the sensor which is around £200! I find this hard to believe. Anybody know were I can get just the gel pad? Car has auto wipers (obviously) and auto headlights, which makes a difference apparently to the wiper sensor.

Any help appreciated.

Your dealer seems a bit poor, part # 89944-05010 is the gel pad for all auto wiper equipped mk2 Avensis
