Engine Number Location

Hi guys.

Looking for my engine number on a 2006 Rav T180

I can see a 7 figure number stamped in the cylinder head just below the rocker cover and above the 3rd and 4th glow plugs (right hand side of the engine.)

Will that be the one?

It's a different number than the one on my DVLA V5C document.

I saw that link via the search engine thanks,but its not that clear.

My thinking was that a number stamped into the cylinder head must be it?

I was hoping for some confirmation..

Paul, After I had my new 3/4 engine, I asked my dealer where is the new number and I was told it is on the block but is very hard to see it. Definitely not on the cylinder head, they had to go through their paper work to find it for me.

Thanks for your engine number info Charlie,and sorry for hijacking your satnav thread.

Toyota have no record of mine having an engine change either, but there is one of its three registered recalls for which they have no details, ?

so I'm not ruling it out, which is why I'm looking for my engine number to see if it tallies with my registration document.

From memory its down below the EGR valve or slightly to the right of it but its apparently very very hard to see... I have a couple of extension inspection mirrors here so will try to see if I can see my one tomorrow afternoon.. I'm fairly sure the number on the head is irrelevant but not 100% sure..
