Urgent! Help Me With Bushes!

I've been trying to get the rear link bars off the axle :censor: !!!

Undid the nuts (which were VERY tight) and now the bolt won't come out. I've hammered it so hard that the end of the bolt is rounded but it seems to be jammed in the bush.

Any ideas how to get them out? Do i use a burner and burn the bushes off? Or is there a better technique?

Thanks

Tony

If you have got access to oxy-acetylene bottles heat the bolt up so its red hot and they usually shoot out when you give it a good wack! I had the same troubles on my MK1 Escort MK2 Escort and Hillman Imp! Lucky my dad has got the oxy bottles!

Tony,

Sounds like the bolt is indeed jammed in the steel sleeve inside the bushing.

This is exactly the problem I had on one control arm on my recent AE86 axle swap over.

I ended up cutting right through the arm/bush/bolt/sleeve with an angle grinder and tearing it to pieces to get mine out.

Like Trueno says, heat is worth a try, or you could try a puller/slide hammer if possible but if not, go get your cutting disc...
