Warning Light Help

hi this may sound dumb.

but i have a warning light just come on the right hand side at the bottom

it says oil change now i know what your thinking and yes im going to ask

does this mean change my oil.

and if so when i have changed filter and oil how do u reset this feature if it is 1

or does it just mean low oil ,i think it means the first but i got no manuals so i dont know jack.

thanks ohh can somebody tell me what type of oil i need cheers

This not meant to be as sarcastic as it sounds, but what is dumb is, what car do you have?

An oil light come on, on the right on the right of what??

Come on mate get some info in here, car, year and engine size at least eh? Oh and where you are might help out too.

It is an indicator that you must have an oil changed. Afterwards, remove the rubber from the console glass in front of you. Insert a stick that will reset a button from your speedometer. Hope you got what i said.

hi m8,s yes i now know how to reset it good ,but can u tell me what oil filter i need

and what oil shoul i use as i have no manuals thanks very much for the help

You don't say where you are but if you are, in the UK most decent motorfactors can help out with pattern parts, if you are doing an oil change I would change the fuel filter too, while ya making a mess might as well make it a biggun eh?

As for oil type make sure it is the best you can afford and that it is turbo compatible, the older mineral oils aren't, as I found out after buying 6 litres in France because it was cheap, it was cheap to be sure but in my haste never noticed it was not turbo, you should use semi or fully synthetic, my ace stickers say it needs to be changed every 5000 kays which amounts to about 3000 miles which is a bit harsh on the wallet.

i dont suppose somebody has got a 200sx 1.8 turbo engine out there im desparate too get me hands on 1:)
