Mpg Read Out High

car: 2003 1.8 VVTi T4 Tourer

The screen says as high as 57 mpg and never seems to drop below about 45 even when subject to a load of short runs in town, but i'm pretty sure I'm getting no where near as high!

Rough calculation for a recent 300 mile round trip at a constant 70 mph is nearer 35mpg (fuel tank when from full to 1/3 left so presumed 40 litres used?), the display said something like 57!

anyone else experience this?

I have a 2ltr d4d avensis and one day it told me I was getting 65 mpg.. Now that would be a dream of a car wouldn't it. Going on my calculations from full to empty and filled again it worked out at 43 mpg which sounds more realistic. Hope this helps.

My e46 shape BMW 320d genuinely does get 65mpg!

Its the 150bhp 6 speed manual 4 door slaoon and has been remapped, more like 180-190bhp and great economy :)
