00 Corolla 1.4Vvti Noisy Tappets

I have just purchased an 00 Toyota corolla 3 door hatch when starting from cold under acceleration there is aloud ticking clicking noise from engine like loose tappets anybody got any ideas of aquick fix

What mileage have you got ?

Has it got fresh, correct grade oil in ?

If its the valve clearances you could try a top end oil cleaner to help clear the oil ways just before doing an oil change.

Valve clearance are corrected by fitting new shims, not an easy job and not even suggested you check until 60k miles

Would first make sure its not things like pinking which does occur on accelleration , or something connected to the 'fan' belt thats got a failing bearing
