hey

just coming from work today my 2006 1.4 d4d corolla died.

no engine management light on

it wouldnt start straight away but did 2hrs later.

plugged into diagnostics and showing no engine fault

checked the cat,not blocked

changed all relays beside the Battery

changed high pressure fuel pump and fuel rail

bypassed fuel filter with non return valve

car will start when left for a while

had a few spares in the garage

car has high milage (300000 km)

cam / timing chain not rattling

i would imagine diagnostics would show crank or cam sensors if chain had stretched??

turbo seems ok (no movement on the turbine)

what is the pressure at the fuel rail on cranking?

If anyone can shed a bit of light on this, i would be very grateful :disgust::disgust::disgust: :disgust: :disgust::disgust::disgust:

I have come across two remedies whilst being on this forum.

either starter motor or scv valves and a update on ecu.

To check if starter, get someone to push the car, get to about 5MPH and jump in and try starting. If it starts then your starter motor is NOT WORKING if it doesent start then its NOT the starter. (i know it seems weird but thats how it is)
