Well, I suppose it's possible that I just got a badly made pair.... I think you mentioned that you got the 7500K versions which may be ok... The 8500K ones I got certainly aren't.

When fitted to my car, they simply aren't as bright or provide even the reach that the standard bulbs give.

The best illumination (efficiency/perception) is found at about 4500K-5000K. Going higher looks cooler but gives you less 'useable' light. So 8500K may well be worse than the OEMs assuming the latter are around 5000K
