Trying to upgrade my bulbs. I've pulled the plug out of the back of the bulb, then loosened the rubber from around it. Is the rubber surround meant to come completely off? Didn't want to just yank it and end up breaking it before i get to the bulb. Any one else had this problem??

Yes, unplug the wiring/plug and then the round rubber boot just yanks off. From memory it has a tag on the back for you to be able to grab a hold of and yank with ease.
