Fit Arm Rest / Storage Box To Avensis T25

I had access to a t3-x which had a arm rest / storage box , this did not come with a t2 model as standard.

tools needed 10mm socket, Philips screwdriver, trim remover/ flat end screwdriver with rag.

I did not take pictures whilst doing this mod. So I have used ones found on the internet.

There is no need to remove the whole centre console.

Remove the plastic tab where arrowed so the new arm rest will lock into the hole once fitted.

Then remove the plastic trim at the back, it is held on by 4 plastic clips

your car should have two threaded holes as shown in pic for the bracket.

you will need the bracket shown by arrow from the donor car as this secures the arm rests bracket ( 2 10mm bolts ) be careful removing this as can be rusty

after this you will be able to position the arm rest inside the centre console

once in position there are two Philips screws to screw in, arrow shows the hole the screws go in.

after this you MUST use the back trim panel of the donor car as had two holes on bottom to feed two 10 mm bolts

There are two tabs that can be prized open shown by arrow, fit a 10mm on either side of the rear trim panel,

I hope this makes sense, I wish I had taken pictures but these should help.

"I" you used the same place I did recently for the indicator switch.

Great instructions. I have mastered both the Mk1 and Mk3 Avensis consoles.

These were pics just of google, the centre console is easy to pull apart.. it was more that the whole centre console wasn't needed for the mod.

I am on the lookout for some leather interior if you come across any.

Thanks for that mate iv'e been thinking about doing this mod but have had trouble sourcing the actual armrest.

they sometimes pop on eBay now and again but get snapped up fast...

theres a leather one on eBay for £55 bit excessive for me

or fabric

one point I did miss I did not wire that 12v accessory socket

not sure if any of them include the bracket.. best to try a breakers yard

type in eBay 'breaking avensis' then sort by nearest first this will show the cars breaking near you.
