Lack of Power

Stuck in traffic jam for about 35 minutes. When traffic cleared accelerated back up to 70mph but Rav would not get past 60mph. Behaved like it was being governed. No problems driving round the town or on steep hills Just a problem in 5th gear at high throttle openings. No messages on dashboard. Any thoughts.

If it's diesel, could be an EGR valve problem. Or could be a MAF sensor issue as highlighted on this website:

Toyota actually clean the air flow sensor as part of the Full+ Service, shown in this snippet of the schedule:

Replace diesel fuel filter (model dependant)
Replace spark plugs
Replace air filter (model dependant)
Check valves
Clean airflow meter
Diesel smoke test
Change brake fluid (every two years)
