Still tryin to source the ultimate car for later in the year got a couple of questions

I know they never made a UK TT 6speed manual aero-top, Did they ever make one jap spec?

If they did is it possible to convert it to UK standard ie upgrade headlights, leather interior, turbo, brakes {not bothered about headlight washers}?

Finally whats the chance of finding one over here?

All Twin Turbo Aero-top s were imports and only came as Automatic as the removable roof was an option on the GZ model only.

All UK cars are hard top. If you get an imported Aerotop and convert it to UK Spec you will still pay the higher import insurance (approx 3 times that of a uk car).

All the UK parts are able to be fitted to an import except for anything to do with the turbo or exhaust systems because they are completely diffrent.

All bodyparts and interior parts are almost identical.

You could get a uk car and convert it to an aerotop, this is something that i have thought about doing on my car as looking on EPC (Toyota Parts Catalogue) all the parts are available.

Doesnt look as though the aerotops have re-inforced floors or anything so a conversion should be pretty straight forward although if you were serious about doing it you would need to get it checked out very thoroughly before doing it because it could prove dangerous. :thumbsup:

btw Import Aerotop Turbos are about as rare over here as UK Turbos, so its gonna be a case of having the cash ready and pouncing on it once you see it :lol:

Ultimately if you take one car and cut it up to make another instead of increasing the value you can only decrease it in that it is no longer the original rare edition but a modified version and less desirable than an import ero because it was not created that way...........

that doesnt mean someone WONT want to do it. But I would have thought in 99/100 it would be preferential to find an original than cut up one of the worlds most sought after cars to make it to how u want. :thumbsup:

Lets face it, there are very few cars that dont depreciate. Let alone go up in value.

The parts catalogue is the software Toyota use at their dealerships to look up parts etc.

You need to download both cd's (hope you got broadband :D ) and its a good idea to download the faq also.

May be a good idea to check the insurance on an import aerotop turbo against that of an uk car converted to aerotop.

Its quite an extreme modification and will possibly not be insured by the usual run of the mill companies. So even though the uk is cheaper you should check it out. :thumbsup:

I would under NO circumstances convert a hard top car to an aero.

there is much more to an aero then a removable roof!!!

it would be suicide and a waste of a car to even try it.
