I been hear about this ecotek fuel saving device and wanting to save some money been looking at it. Has anyone actually got experience and proof it works. I can only see it causing problems by interfering.

Hi Sim,

My friend had one for his 306 a few months ago. Can't say that there was much noticable fuel economy improvement at all! Maybe nominal if at all.

Noise was the biggest problem, sort of farts under the bonnet for a while, beds down a little after time, maybe his was a defective one?

Certainly put me off getting one anyway!

And do we see all car manufacturers using such a device because of it's amazing fuel saving and power boosting properties? I dont think so...

Wow it's so technically advanced it generates vacuum from vacuum!

So it's a vacuum generator with flap valves which get's fitted to car's with high tech electronic fuel injection systems which have had thousand spent on them by the manufacturers/ injection manufacturers.

Yeah, sounds great...

Not!

LOFL.... i bought one a couple of years ago and cannot complain against it and for what its worth, TOYOTA and NISSAN plus another that i cant remember have bought into the ecotek device and will be fitting similar devices as stock. The reason it hasn't happened yet is that it would have cost too much to put into an existing production line, there have been no new production lines since the ecotek's introduction to the mass market, the new engines will feature the device but it will be slightly different than the pretty ones you can buy and fit manually or maybe combined into the intake manifold or on the back of the throttle body....

jeeez i shold be on a commission LOL.

when the units are clean you can expect huge savings on a long distance motorway run, they do pretty much f :censor: k all around town except make a comical noise like someone finishing off a macdonalds milkshake.

Most people have failed to set them up correctly ! I just cleaned myine out last weekend and invested in a small filter to cover it to stop further contamination

I can drive from Southend (SE corner of England) to Newquay (SW corner Of England) loaded with surfing gear and only use 3/4 of a tank where as before i would need to fill up at about Exeter.

I stand corrected then! I wonder if they've used a similar device on the new Jaguar XJ? Will have to look when i'm next walking about the production line!

As for power boost, i didn't think it would either! They'd have been selling like hot cakes!

before fitting i used to get a real kick at 4000rpm, after fitting that kick had gone but it revved quicker/smoother, and i had'nt lost any time off my quater mile and the dyno showed a much smoother powerband right through ! :)

so not more power but better use of whats already there i reckon ?
