Hi all. sorry if ive posted this in the wrong place. Not used to forums. I used to have a celica st sport and a Celica T sport. Now I'm thinking of buying a relatively high mileage Rav 4 to use as a second car as a day to day run around/ work car/ weekend bike carrier. . I've read that there are major issues and costs associated with the failure of DMFs on the diesel engines. I'm looking at a 2007 2.2L DiD (115000 mls) and a 2006 2.0 D-4D (90000 mls).

Do the 2006 and 2007 models have the dmf issues associated with them?

Again. My apologies if ive posted in the wrong place.

Happy new Year

Thanks for your reply. Ive read that already. However, I was looking to see if they caused the same uproar (due to premature failure) 2006 onwards compared to the earlier models.

Hi

No they dont, i did 138k miles with my 2002 nrg, bombpoof, all i ever did was fit 4 new sensors, wish i'd kept it instead of getting a 2005 d4d xtr which cost me a dmf, new clutch, 2 5th gears , new  scv's and that had only done 38k miles when i got rid.
