Towing eye

Hi guys

Can anyone tell me please where to connect a towing eye to the front of my 2005 D4D 2.2?

I know there's a steel towing ring fitted below the engine. I have used this in the past but the bottom of the plastic skirt could be damaged by the tow rope/strap. 

With the car jack there is also towing eye that must screw into the cross member at the front.

There are blank plastic covers either side of the fog lights. They appear to be part of the whole plastic light cluster not for removal.

Any help please would be greatly appreciated.
