brake lights and boot light glowing

the problem is that when the ignition is off the brake light s start to glow also the boot light is glowing if i remove the boot light the brake lights go out any help would be much appreciated

Check the grounding points in the boot, have you changed any bulbs recently ?

no bulbs changed but when i disconnect one side brake light wiring the light goes dimmer and when both sides are disconnected the light goes out

It sounds like a bad ground, a quick look at the diagram shows they both go through the same earth point on the rear passenger arch

Any problems with the boot/tailgate lock ? Are the brake lights working ok ? Make sure the bulbs and sockets are clean, for the cost change the bulbs out (good quality ones)

boot lock is fine and so are the brake lights but a funny thing if i remove the boot light and start the car the door ajar light is lit when i press the brake then it goes out and comes back on when i take my foot off the brake

It's a ground issue, it will find the path of least resistance, its just a case of finding the culprit
