RAV4 Automatic Transmission.... broken?

Hello,

I was wondering if the following is happening to everyone or its just me. Suppose your are going uphill and you stop your car. Your car is on direct “D” and you are pressing your brakes. Now you release your brakes. Should the car go back (down) or should a good working transmission prevent this from happening? I recently rebuilt my transmission and I was wondering if the job was done wrong or if this is completely normal. I never had a RAV4 before, only Corollas, and their transmission wouldn’t let this happen…
