Diesel engine modifications for a 1997 e110

Hey all first time post and looking for some pointers. I’ve got a 1997 Corolla Estate 2.0 diesel that I’m looking to make some “simple” modifications too. maybe change the air filter, get it remapped etc. ive never attempted anything like this but I fancy giving it a go as it’s a great old car and want to have a bit of fun with it. if anyone can give me any help that would be great. many thanks darren
