Ambient interior lighting 2020 excel corolla

Hey guys. So I have just purchased a 2020 Corolla Touring sports excel model. It has ambient interior lighting in the form of thin blue led strips which run along all the doors as well as illuminating the front cubby hole where your phone goes.

BUT...

When you set off this ambient light dims to such a level you can not see it anymore. I understand why this is so it is not a distraction while driving. But I've got so used to the ambient lighting in my old Ford focus always being on. That now to not have it the cabin just feels really dark and difficult to see things inside the car.

Has anyone tried one of those OBD Carly devices to see if you can stop it from dimming and have it on all the time the ignition is on?
