Hi

I was wondering if you can help me here. I recently brought this Estima 2007. No heat is coming from the vents inside the car.

Today the mechanic changed the coolant liquid and replaced the thermostat. Still the same problem.

I did the AC Diagnose Test by holding a few buttons down then pressing the Start button.

21 and 24 AC error codes flash on it.

The mechanic plugged in the computer and say Solar Solenoid.

We have no clue what todo next. Can you help please ?

You might have an idea.

Thanks for your time.

Regards

Davendra

I do hope the garage mechanic knew what they were doing and either drained the old fluid before adding another or used the same type of coolant as the original Toyota specification.

Mixing a water based coolant with the original spec will cause issues as it isn’t water based and will crystallise and block the coolant channels.

Why was the coolant replaced? Were all the hoses tested for the correct temperature before flushing?

Solar sensores are in the dash but it is usually used for the Auto mode.

If you try to use the heat in manual mode, the problem continues?

Also, if is dual zone climate, try to adjust both zones. Can be a problem with the valve that opens and closes the coolant flow or even the control unit

Hi Paul,

Thank you for your feedback. Much appreicated.

>I do hope the garage mechanic knew what they were doing and either drained the old fluid before adding another or used the same type of coolant as the original Toyota specification.

Yes he did exactly that.  He drained it completely. It only had water in their before from previous owner.

>Mixing a water based coolant with the original spec will cause issues as it isn’t water based and will crystallise and block the coolant channels.

Yes had water before.

>Why was the coolant replaced? Were all the hoses tested for the correct temperature before flushing?

Yes it was with the red. One yes he checke the temperature before and it was cold. Now its warmer and flows better but still not warm air.

Hi Luis.

>Solar sensores are in the dash but it is usually used for the Auto mode.

Yes I see and they work well as when I shine a light and night time the headlight go off.

>If you try to use the heat in manual mode, the problem continues?

Yes tried everything in manaul and automatic.

>Also, if is dual zone climate, try to adjust both zones.

You mean the back of the car there is zone there. I'll try different settings.

>Can be a problem with the valve that opens and closes the coolant flow or even the control unit

Yes the mechanic said he check that next.

Few thoughts.

1. We clear the codes and trhe 21 & 24 still same back.

2. Should I check any of the fuses? For the heater or something? I've just taken photo of the fuse diagrams in the engine area see attached,

3. Could the Heater Matrix not be working and any way to check if it is not?

Thanks for all your help.

Since you have owned it, has it ever provided hot air?

Quite @Paulscarbs! If that cause is not identified and resolved, it could happen again...!!

@Davendra - I'm hoping it doesn't but better to be safe than sorry...
