Evaporator service

My Toyota Camry is from 2017.  My dealer is recommending evaporator service.  I have never had it done so far.  I have 50k on the car right now.  Is it required?

The evaporator is the part of the aircon system that gets cold and is located in the heater box in the cabin. The only 'service' that I know of would be to use an antibacterial mist cannister that is simply set off within the cabin while the A/C is on and set to recirculate. Its like an aerosol spray. You can buy these yourself if you want to do this.

Does it need it... up to you. If you get bad smells from the A/C then it would help, otherwise probably not.

I'm assuming the dealer did not mean a recharge of the refrigerant gas in the system which is a different thing altogether but that would never be referred to as an 'Evaporator Service'.
